Electroencephalography
(EEG) is the measurement of
electrical activity produced by the brain as
recorded from electrodes placed on the scalp.
Electrocardiogram
(EKG) is a
noninvasive transthoracic graphic produced by an
electrocardiograph, which record the electrical
activity of the heart over time
Respiratory
Therapy specializes in the assessment
and treatment of respiratory and cardiovascular
pathologies. These include chronic lung problems
(i.e. asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, COPD) and
more acute multi-systemic problems stemming from
other pathological conditions such as heart
attacks, stroke, or trauma as well as
complications at birth.
Pulmonary
Function Test (PFT)
One of a number of test used to determine
the ability of the lungs to exchange oxygen and
carbon dioxide. Test Capabilities:
Echocardiography
(ECHO)
A noninvasive
diagnostic method that uses ultrasound to
visualize internal cardiac structures. All
cardiac valves can be visualized, and the
dimensions of each ventricle and left atrium can
be measured.
