Programs and Resources:
START NOW Breast
Cancer Awareness
The START NOW Breast Cancer Awareness Services is a
grant-funded program that provides innovative breast
health/breast cancer education and services. Women in
predominantly low income communities have not had enough
opportunities to learn about the signs and effects of
breast cancer, which leads to higher mortality rates
from the disease.
Our hospitals has goals
to provide breast cancer education to all females ages
40 and over. We provide individual case management for
both screening and treatment through mammograms and
necessary follow-ups. In order for more women to receive
mammograms, we look to maximize revenues and ensure that
all women on Medicare and/or Medicaid receive mammograms
for free or the appropriate charge.
