Welcome to Touchette Regional Hospital Surgical Services Department.  Having surgery can make any patient apprehensive.  You are not sure what is going to happen, your in an unfamiliar environment and you are worried about the outcome.  Our goal as a surgery department is to help you to navigate through the surgical process and promote a positive surgical experience by making you as comfortable as possible as supplying you with clear explanations about what is happening and why and meaningful information.

We are proud to be part of your community and are committed to the people we serve.  At TRH we provide safe and quality care close to home.  Our Nursing Staff have years of experience and work as a team with our physicians and anesthetists to provide you and your family with high quality, personal care.  The anesthesia department consists of Board Certified Anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Our Unit:

The Surgery Department consists of four Surgical Suites, two Endoscopy Suites, and the Outpatient Department.

Recent changes to the Surgery Department include:

• A newly renovated and expanded Recovery Room

• Updated Laparoscopic and Arthroscopic instruments and monitors

• Upgraded the endoscopes and monitors for the Endoscopy Department

TRH Surgical Service provides inpatient and outpatient surgical services in a variety of specialties, including:

• General and Vascular

• Ear, Nose, Throat

• Gynecology

• Gastroenterology

• Ophthalmology

• Oral/Maxillofacial

• Orthopedics

• Podiatry

• Urology

Surgeries are scheduled through your physician’s office and in coordination with the Surgical Services scheduling coordinator.  Depending upon your insurance you will likely need a pre-certification for your scheduled, outpatient surgery.  This is usually handled through your physicians office in coordination with the hospital.

Scheduled surgeries normally take place Monday through Friday, between 7:30am and 3:30pm.  We also provide coverage for emergency surgery 24 hours a day.
